As a teacher you need to register students & provide a proof of disability, & this ensures qualified individuals use the service. Bookshare serves people with visual impairments, physical disabilities, & learning disabilities. Bookshare works on mobile devices, with apps to download, Macs & PCs (with a free download), & assistive technology devices.

Like SummarizeThis, Text Compactor is a free online automatic text summarization tool. The added benefit to Text Compactor that SummarizeThis does not do, it allows students to set the percentage of text to keep in a summary. Students copy & paste text into the box, slide the slider, & read the summarized text. With the ability for students to select the percentage, there is a good chance for students to reread the passage multiple times seeing what the passage looks like at 30%, 50%, 70%, etc...
